Wandering Tao

Taoist tradition is often described as paradoxical, defying convention and escaping the defining parameters of belief systems found on earth.  It is best known by the works of ancient Chinese scholars, long ago laid to rest and unknown to the current population. How then, do we communicate the basic tenants of this enduring path of wisdom in a way proper to western peoples?

For us, we feel that it is best done by calling attention to the Taoist habit of loosening the grip of human attachment by embracing a different state of being.  This state is found by entering a period of wandering... freely experiencing the contrast doing apparently nothing at all (wu-wei) and the constant transformation between these two poles (yin-yang) of human existence.

In our "Wandering Tao" blog we share our lessons learned from nature over the course of our wanderings both short and long.  We sincerely hope that the stories of our experiences will bring insight to some of the more allusive components of the Taoist experience as well as the joy of the mundane aspects like a good cup of tea...
